People Have Spotted Starbucks’ New Teacher-Themed Tumbler In Stores, and It Gets an A+
There’s no denying that this school year continues to present challenges for teachers and students all over the country. So if you’re looking for a token of appreciation for the educator in your life, you’ll want to head to your local Target. Shoppers around the country have spotted Starbucks’ new teacher tumbler at select locations, and it’s the perfect way to say thanks to the teachers in your life that always go above and beyond no matter the circumstances.
The Pencil & Paper Cold Cup will hold 24 ounces of your favorite at-home iced beverage, with a design that will put a smile on any teacher’s face. Designed to look like a lined notebook, the straw looks like a No. 2 pencil complete with an eraser topper. Note that the cups are not currently available at all Starbucks locations, but you can find them at Starbucks licensed stores, including those inside grocery locations and Target stores in the U.S., for $16.25.
Starbucks told Apartment Therapy in a statement, “We know our customers are looking for small moments of joy in their day, and this summer we are offering a range of colorful drinkware—from tumblers to ceramic mugs and more—to uplift their day and Starbucks experience. Please ask your barista when you arrive at your favorite location for availability.”
Even better news? Shoppers have also spotted other teacher-themed goodies, including a blue ceramic travel mug with apples on it and a green mug with handle featuring apples. There’s even a mini ceramic ornament with apples, too, if you’re really trying to become a teacher’s pet and show them they’re the apple of your eye.
Using your new teacher tumbler in-store won’t be happening yet, due to updated cleaning and sanitizing protocols to protect the health and safety of employees and customers during the coronavirus pandemic. “While we have temporarily paused the use of reusable cups, meaning that customers cannot bring in their personal cup to be filled by the barista, we will continue to honor the 10-cent discount for customers who show their personal cup when ordering,” a rep at Starbucks told AT.
