In preparation for the Fall Cure, we spent last night looking through some of the pictures on the Apartment Therapy Flickr pages. This picture caught our eye because, despite the many challenges of this space, AT reader Suzie Goombs has managed to create a pleasing and appealing room.
Look closely at the room itself. The door's in awkward place, there's only one wall, it's a modern building with no molding, the ceiling isn't particularly high BUT despite those things (or maybe because of them), Suzie's created a space that I want to hang out in. She's done it with a good eye for balance -- of colour, of texture, of form -- and probably in a way that didn't break her bank, with a mix of classic pieces and fun touches (she's reminded me to hit up Ikea for a sheepskin throw for my corner chair). This is the core of what AT's about. Working with what you have to create a livable space; turning your challenges into assets. Join us in the Cure and see your space transform.
