Steampunk mods are elaborate affairs. In order to make anything look steampunk, you'll need to invest a lot of time so that it looks good. What I really like about these mods is that they make PCs look unique. There is nothing worse than having your box of junk PC sitting around, looking like something gray and unappealing. This mod won the Speak Visual contest at NVIDIA.
The Deja 2.0 PC was made by Mr. Red. It not only looks pretty cool, but it's also pretty powerful. It's got a quad core processor, lots of RAM and HDs. The details aren't really important. Needless to say that with a frame like this, what really counts are the details. Mr. Red has worked in a lot of cool little gadgets.
It must have taken quite a while to assemble this. I like the fact that the unit is in one piece. The keyboard and box are fused with the monitor. You don't really see this a lot anymore. It reminds me of those old computers that you can see in Lost. Or one of those computers from James Bond. Take a look at Mr. Red's complete Flickr gallery, which details the assembling and creation of Deja 2.0. It's worth a look. [via Make, photos by Mr. Red]
