We had never heard of Store Your Style until we spotted one of their vans darting around on a Montreal street. Turns out the Toronto-based service is in the business of storing wardrobes for clothes horses who are short on space...

Store Your Style is a full-service storage solution for the closet-cramming urbanite, the de-cluttering home-seller, the equipment-laden sportsperson and anyone who appreciates having a little more space. With easy home-to-storage delivery and a virtually on-demand return service, we're giving your closet some extra room to breathe.

In addition to their solutions for small home dwellers, we appreciate a few of Store Your Style's helpful hints for clothing storage (these are things you can do at home, in your own closet):

  • Plastic boxes and vinyl garment bags trap moisture and odours. Breathable boxes and bags allow air to move, which reduces odours and prevents moisture from damaging your clothing. This is especially crucial for the preservation of wool, linen, and silk garments.
  • Combining the natural protective properties of cedar with the refreshing aroma of lavender ensures that your clothes are luxuriously protected.
  • The ideal temperature to store clothing is a constant temperature below 75°F or 23°C. Humid and musty attics or basements attract bugs and moths and cause odours. Extreme temperatures can damage your clothes.

Also see their Guide to Cleaning Instructions for help figuring out cleaning label symbols. Check out their student storage services at Store Your Dorm.
