In an effort to encourage the masses to stay in and distance themselves from the public, many establishments including art museums, national parks, and historical monuments have uploaded virtual tours that can be accessed for free online. Of course, the New York theater community will not be outdone. Several theater companies are uploading performances onto streaming sites so we can enjoy ourselves with a classy night in.

The Actors Fund is currently uploading videos to their “Stars In The House” playlist on YouTube. This series features “stars of the stage and screen” singing their hit songs from the comfort of their own home. Kristen Chenoweth, Tina Fey, Billy Porter, and many others have made appearances on the YouTube show, hosted by Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley.

Similarly, Broadway World is uploading “Living Room Concerts” to their site, where stars like Lin Manuel Miranda sing some of their favorite songs from the Broadway shows they star in. And if you’re willing to pay a small price for great entertainment, Broadway HD has a plethora of shows available to subscribers for the low price of $8.99 per month.

If you’re into comedy, check out Caveat’s YouTube channel. The comedy venue is live streaming online versions of their nightly shows at 7 p.m. ET every night. Though you can tune in for free, Caveat is accepting PayPal donations in order to ease the financial strain of the pandemic.

You can get involved in some of the performances, like the Radio City Rockettes’ live and free dance classes, hosted every Thursday over on the dance group’s Instagram page. Good luck with those high kicks, everyone.

Even though there’s not much to do physically, there’s still so much great art out there to entertain yourself with. Click around, stream, and support the arts in any way you can.
