Mirror, Mirror, On the Wall
Sarah’s fortunate to have ample windows in her living room, and adding a mirror over her sofa (a window-style mirror at that) gives the appearance of another window and reflects all that beautiful natural light around the room — win-win.
Sloped Ceiling Syndrome
Rooms with sloped ceilings can be tricky to make work and we love how Cameo chose a large, corner sectional for this space which works with, not against, the ceilings to make the area feel like a cozy hideout.
The Case of the Missing Coffee Table
Coffee tables are certainly functional, but omitting them makes a lot of sense for some living room spaces, especially if it disrupts the flow in a pass-through room.
Small Color Experiments
Many people choose to use white or off-white paint for the walls of a small home to enhance brightness and create a sense of a larger, airier space. If you’re a color lover in a small home, try painting one of your smallest rooms, like the kitchen or bathroom, for just a does of that color you crave.
Nooks for the Win
This window nook used to be a tiny bathroom, but Ludivine tore it out and created this cozy window seat which brings in tons of light and can act like a second mini sofa for reading or take a break.
Divide & Conquer (& Store While You’re At It)
Many studio-dwellers opt to use a room divider to visually separate their bedroom area. Rachel kept hers low which doesn’t offer privacy, but does act as a “wall” of the adjacent living room and, most helpfully, contains storage.
