Stylish Kuhl Air Conditioner

I love our vintage apartment in almost every single way. One of the few things I hate about it, though, is the need for a window air conditioner. I almost dread the summer months, when I have to install that ugly white box into my otherwise lovely window. I wouldn't mind it if air conditioners weren't so very ugly.

Enter the colorful new Kuhl series of air conditioners from Friedrich to add a little style to the window unit.

The thing I don't like most about my old air conditioner – other than lugging it up to my apartment, usually on the hottest day of the year – is its ugly white face. It's so sad to replace the lower half of a window with such an unattractive little machine.

The Kuhl air conditioner is available with 6 interchangeable colored front covers so it looks more like a sleek appliance and less like a temporary eyesore. Right down to the iPod-ish remote control, it's a sleek window unit with a more modern feel than the standard air conditioner. I think the black or silver would have the most minimal impact in a room but the red is so delightful! It might be the one I'd like to keep in my window year-round.
