Who is Carrie Bradshaw without a cosmopolitan in her hand? Until recently, we didn’t know her to drink much else! But times change and it looks like Carrie is changing with them. Sarah Jessica Parker just donned her Carrie costume once again and sadly, it wasn’t for a third “Sex and the City” movie – but it was for a good cause.

SJP teamed up with actor Jeff Bridges as their most iconic on-screen characters for Stella Artois’ Super Bowl commercial. While Parker dressed as Carrie, Bridges pulled on that big comfy sweater to play the Dude once more, the character made famous in the 1998 crime comedy “The Big Lebowski.” Just like Carrie is known to drink cosmos, the Dude is synonymous with White Russians (a cocktail mix of vodka, coffee liqueur, and cream).

These two actors who you never would have expected to see in a Super Bowl ad together were brought on to help support a good cause. Stella Artois is working with Matt Damon’s Water.org to provide water to those that need it:

Since joining forces with Water.org in 2015, Stella Artois has helped provide access to clean water for more than 1.7 million people in the developing world. With every purchase of a Stella Artois or a Limited-Edition Chalice, you can help transform lives around the world. This creates a ripple effect: with access to clean water, women can care for their families, families can earn an income and pursue their dreams. That’s what we call Pouring It Forward.

In the commercial, Carrie is greeted at a fancy restaurant and the waiter instantly orders her a cosmo but she then asks for a Stella. The entire restaurant lets out an audible gasp—someone even drops a tray of food. When the Dude enters, he’s asked if he wants a White Russian and he tells the bartender, no a Stella Artois, (but he totally butchers the pronunciation of Artois).

Jeff Bridges said in a statement that “El Duderino would want to do the right thing.” Sarah Jessica Parker also added, “It is my hope that these two worlds colliding will inspire people everywhere to switch up their drink for a Stella and join us in helping end the global water crisis.”
