As we wrap up our monthly theme of Spring Cleaning & Organization, I'd like to reflect on the work of the ultimate clothing organizer, New York-based artist Derick Melander. Derick uses carefully folded and stacked second-hand clothing to create architectural sculptures that speak to the ideas of societal consumption, creative reuse and the deeper meaning of clothing (to name a few!).

Derick's work also highlights one of my favorite design ideas — repetition of even the simplest, and most humble of objects can translate to a very powerful message!

See more of Derick's work and ideas at his site, Derick Melander.
