Every child is a superhero and now they can have a cape to prove it. Whether their special power is tying their own shoes or laser vision, capes aren't just for Halloween anymore. They take imaginary play up a notch and will help your young one ward off the neighborhood villains.

There are more options for superhero capes than you might think and after the jump we'll show you our favorites.

Ellie Bellie Kids (left) will monogram your child's initial on a choice of three patterned fabrics for $30.

Bobo Brooklyn Capes do double duty as a towel and are cotton on one side and satin on the other. They come in several primary colors with a star or thunderbolt icon ($58).

Panjo Kids makes "Super Capes for Super Kids" and will customize them with your favorite kid's initial ($30). They have a wide selection of fabrics to choose from. One of our favorites is this comic book fabric.

Whether your kid is a caped crusader or a sidekick, he or she has plenty of choices in modern capeware.
