Supreme, in collaboration with Swedish mattress maker Hästens, has announced its very own king-sized continental bed set, complete with its trademark red and white aesthetic. As with anything that carries the iconic Supreme brand — like these $1,000 clay bricks — the mattress is expectedly pricey, rumored to cost $23,990. That makes it one of Supreme’s most expensive home goods, even more costly than their $1,300 mini fridge or $8,239 Rimowa suitcase.
The mattress doesn’t come with sheets. So, unless you go out and buy Supreme sheets, you’ll only be covering up the red and white plaid branding. So much for hyping it to your roommates or partner.
While you might lose sleep over its price tag, the mattress itself does promise a good night’s rest. Hästens has been manufacturing beds since 1853, and is one of the best in the business (Apartment Therapy founder Maxwell Ryan reviewed one for his Year In Bed series). Its products include 27 layers of materials that support sleep, including horsetail hair, cotton, wool, and flax. Their mattresses cost between $10,000 and $20,000, which means Supreme’s model adds a $4,000 clout premium.
What do you think? Is the mattress worth the hype or should people just sleep on it? You can learn more about Supreme’s next drop on their website.
