Trickle Down! Check out the new JAKOB padded svivel chair (above, left) from IKEA. It appears that the same technology used in George Nelson's Swag Leg Group is used here by the Swedish giant. Nelson's Swag-leg chair (above, right) was recently reissued and its graceful curved legs give it its name — Swaging involves using pressure to bend, curve and taper a hollow metal tube...

The Herman-Miller licensed reproduction Nelson chair is $379 at Design Within Reach while IKEA's JAKOB chair is $139. The IKEA chair features a removable padded cushion. It is difficult to tell from the image (and even the product description), but we believe a stretchy fabric is wrapped around the JAKOB's frame.

They are close enough in price that we would definitely go for the Nelson if making a purchase. Which would you choose?

We have to show you Nelson's two-color version!
