Q: Hi, we have a very small yard, the back is really only a slate patio and a koi pond. There is a mulch and groundcover side yard that is about 10' wide in some places and probably 50' long. It was designed by an older, childless previous owner and is very nice...but not great for the preschooler now in residence. (question continued below the jump.)

We are making do with a sandbox on the slate patio, but the kid loves to swing! There are no suitable trees for hanging a swing...has anyone seen any other ideas for putting a swing or small playhouse with swing into a very grown-up feeling yard space? All the playhouse/swing combos I see for "small" yards must be for small-by-Texas-standards as they still require 18' x 14' clearance! I'd love to see any creative ideas for getting a playspace with a swing into a yard like this!

Editor: Do you have a small yard that you've made a fun place for young children? Any ideas for AJ?
