This assignment is a different kind of challenge, focused not on what you must get done, but what you need to take a break from. It's hard, too, because when I try to not doing something, like watch Downton Abbey, that's the ONLY thing I want to do.

I had similar feelings about my media fast last year (right down to the Downton Abbey). Since then, I have started meditating twice a day, which is very recharging in general but did not make doing a media fast any easier!

I spent the evening cooking myself dinner, reading, cozying up with the kitties, and going to bed early. Of course, it wasn't all relaxing; one of the furballs threw up on the duvet, and the extra cornmeal in the bottom of the pizza pan scorched and is still stinking up the apartment. C'est la vie, I suppose!

How did your media fast go?
