This New-to-the-U.S. Store Is Like if IKEA and Target Had a Baby

There’s nothing we love more than wandering the aisles of Target or IKEA and stocking up on all sorts of home goods, furniture, and products—and then hacking them to create something totally our own. So imagine our excitement when we discovered Australian store Anko, which reminds us of a hybrid of those two amazing retailers. While the only brick and mortar stores in the U.S. are all within the Seattle area, we’re pleased to announce that you can easily place orders from the brand online. Better yet, there are plenty of items for sale that are perfect for those of us who love to DIY—will Anko Hacks be the next big thing?! Shop our affordable favorites below, all blissfully hack-able.

A simple wall shelf like this one is the perfect candidate for a makeover featuring spray paint or stencils. Tackle just the metal brackets—we could see these spray-painted gold or copper—or paint the entire piece, then use it to display succulents, candles, nail polish, or whatever else needs a stylish home.

We love a good sheepskin rug during the peak of winter, but honestly, they work all year round because they’re just so adorable and look gorgeous draped over a desk chair, beside a bed, or layered over a patterned rug. Or, you can pull out your tools and turn this rug into a chair cover or pillow. This pink hue is subtle enough that it won’t overpower your existing decor, but it’ll definitely spark tons of compliments. Plus, who can beat that under-$20 price tag?
