Target’s New Luggage Line Looks First Class, with an Economy Price
You already buy just about everything at Target, and fans of the superstore are especially fond of its in-house brands, which offer up stylish and functional finds in everything from home to apparel. At long last, Target is releasing a luggage collection, and it’s just what you need before you embark on your next getaway.
The expansive new line, called Open Story, will feature nearly 40 luggage and accessory items, including roller bags, duffle bags, backpacks, garment bags, packing cubes, and more. There’s something for everyone, whether you love vibrant hues to help your suitcase stand out in that post-flight rush to the conveyor belt, or you prefer more minimalist vibes when it comes to packing away your essentials.
And while you can already snag travel gear at Target, Open Story brings together the things that bullseye lovers appreciate most from Target’s in-house brands: design, functionality, and affordability. For example, the Traveler Backpack comes equipped with a trolley sleeve that was specifically designed to fit just right over the handle on a roller bag, making your juggling act a heck of a lot easier, even with multiple bags in tow.
There are other exciting features in the pieces, including heavy duty zippers, a built-in TSA lock to protect valuables, expandability options (for 20 percent more storage space), built-in USB charging ports for your devices, and spinner wheels, which means fellow travelers won’t hear you coming from miles away.
“Our guests find a lot of joy in traveling, and we’re thrilled that our new luggage owned brand offers them a high-quality assortment at Target-only prices, helping us fill a white space within the category,” explained Target’s senior vice president and chief design officer, Julie Guggemos, in a press release. “Open Story truly represents the magic of Tar-zhay and the power of our owned brands, and we hope all of our guests will love using these items during the busy spring travel season and for years to come.”
Perhaps the best part of Target’s new luggage line? It won’t break the bank—prices range from $19.99 to $179.99, so you can spend more money where it counts: on overpriced airport snacks before you board, obviously. Open Story launches in stores on February 9 and online February 13.
