Target is ditching hot dogs in favor of salads. At test stores, Target is replacing its branded café with Freshii, a fast casual chain known for salads and other healthier options.

1,700 of Target's 1,800 stores have cafés that sell fast snack food like hot pretzels and slushies. Freshii will be replacing the current cafés in nine stores as a test.

Other tests include two Minneapolis locations with outposts of local Italian restaurant D'Amico & Sons, and three stores with Pizza Hut locations.

Outsourcing cafés seems a likely next step for Target, after the sale of its pharmacies to CVS earlier this year.
