I stopped by one of my favorite favorite flowers shops that sells small antique tables, hand made jewelry and miscellaneous wares and came across this silver and gold tchotchke. It reminds me of something they would have at Cafe Yaffa in the East Village of Manhattan.
At first glance you think it's a lamp, but the 4 long arms on one side can't possibly hold a lamp shade. It's been sitting in my house for a couple of weeks now and I am trying to think of a creative way to use it. I thought it might be an interesting plant stand until I tried it and realized it wasn't stable enough to hold a plant. It could be used for jewelry, hanging kitchen or bathroom towels, to display a collection of tea cups, or even toilette paper for the bath.
Does anyone know what this piece might have originally been intended for?
