With the holidays just around the corner, most people are probably starting to plan this year's holiday parties and making lists of all the party essentials needed to throw a good soiree. Here are some apps and tech to consider for your next party that will come in handy even after the holidays are over.
Mixology: Mixology is a comprehensive guide to drink recipes. It comes in handy while you're out and aren't sure what to order, but is also nice to have on hand when you're planning a party. With over a thousand recipes, we're pretty sure you can find something to fit your party theme in there.
BigOven: Although the How to Cook Everything app is much more involved and extensive, if you aren't a typical cook in the kitchen besides during party planning, it's better to use BigOven, which is a free app with thousands of recipes to choose from. You can enter what ingredients you have to see what types of dishes you can make. Before shopping for groceries, you can mange your list of things to buy with the app as well.
Simple Soiree: One of the most popular party planning apps, Simple Soiree lets you create invitations, manage your guest list and your shopping list. You can organize based on store locations or categories. The best part is, you can continue to use it to organize your daily life or plan other events after your party is over.
Post: If you're looking for an easy app to use to send out pretty invitations straight from your phone, you can try Post. Post lets you send invitations through text or email, and you can edit your invites on your mobile device while you're on the go.
Disco ball: Instead of having to drill any holes in the ceiling to install an old school disco ball, this battery operated one can have the same effect and novelty without the hassle of installing one on the ceiling.
Libratone Speakers: Sometimes the best tech is tech that doesn't even look like what it is at all. One of our favorite examples of this is Libratone speakers. The speakers are covered in wool and available in five different colors.
Projector + Screen: If you don't have a big screen TV, we also find that projectors and screens work nicely to recreate a simple home theater experience. We reviewed a couple options in the past and think they'd work nicely to set the mood for a party.
