Tech Chest: PC Hack That's Hidden In Plain Sight

Rob Higardea had an old Via Epia motherboard hanging around the house that needed a purpose. Combining his love for odd cases and enclosures, Rob's travels led him to the most unusual of places—Hobby Lobby. He can browse the web or use it as a home server, but best of all, it's hidden in plain sight!

Rob chose the chest as a start place because it was large enough to hold a motherboard, but small enough to not take over a room. Things are held in place with wooden brackets and rubber spacers, plus there are holes drilled for cords and ventilation.

We have to applaud this smart hack with simple items that many might be able to incorporate into not only their lives, but their living rooms as well. Rob has shown that even though his machine might not top out at the fastest speeds, it's always great to make something out of nothing! Make sure to check out all the details and more photos of the project, over at The Pixel Junkie.

Thanks Rob!
