This week we've been focusing on baby proofing and how to set up your home and environment to protect your child. But what about the older child? How to protect them from the potential dangers out there?
When we were teens, our mom had an 11:00 p.m. weekend curfew as long as she knew where we were going, how we were getting there and who we were going with. Depending on who we were going with, the curfew might be extended. Did it work? For the most part. Did we sneak out sometimes? Of course!
This got us to thinking about curfews for our son. He's only 6 right now, but in 8 or 9 years he'll be at that point. 11:00 p.m. seems reasonable to my husband and me right now, but in the future who knows!
What's your stance on curfews? Do you think they are necessary? Should they be different time for weekday/weekend events? Do you have teenagers now -- what do you do with them?
