We think that childhood homes — often designed by your parents — have a big effect on how your home looks now, whether you grew up to adopt certain styles or cleaning habits from your parents or whether your home is the total opposite of what you grew up with. But we also wonder, how do you think your style compares to that of your siblings?

We've written before about how our moms have had an effect on our home style, like in Nancy's 3 Important Decorating Lessons I Learned from My Mother. I've even written about the effects that my dad's life lessons have had on my home (although his contributions weren't particularly aesthetic): 4 Lessons About Home (& Life) I Learned From Dad.

But what about your brothers and sisters? Do they share your tastes in mid-century modern furniture or ferns? Or do they favor glamorous, maximalist spaces where you tend toward the stark and modern? Could someone tell that you and your sister are related by the color palette of your living room? Would someone be surprised to know that you and your brother are related based on the completely opposite approaches to cleaning routines?

→ Weigh in! If you've got siblings and have recently seen their home's style, tell us in the comments below how similar — or different — their home's style is to yours (and be sure to share the age difference, if you're comfortable!).
