A trip to Paris will always include good food, great sights, and an amazing cultural experience. Within the Parisian cultural experience there is a terrific amount of design. If you are intent on seeing some design shops in Paris, The Collection should be on your map.
The Collection storefront is, by a tourist’s perspective, off the beaten path. Although it’s in the centrally located 3rd arrondissement, there are few people walking down Rue de Poitou relative to what you might find on the main arteries surrounding the shop.
The shop is small (maybe 600 square feet), but the space feels open, bright, and modern. The shop’s design is amazingly modern, yet warm and homely. Comprising mostly of European-made design, the store features furniture and home goods. Some favorites are the Ribbon Stools by Alex Macdonald and the Air Chairs by Mint.
The Collection, in addition to having furniture, also carries a great selection of wallpaper, including 3D wallpaper that’s affordable and innovative.
Finally, The Collection has an incredible array of children’s furniture. If you have kids (or even if you don’t!), this is a must stop design shop. The children’s designs not only look great, but also serve as learning tools. Take the Flapjack Shoe Box — a place to store shoes and help kids learn how to tie their laces.
A great, one-of-a-kind Parisian design shop. C’est vrai. Check out The Collection!
