Last week we shared the tales of two friends who had their iPhones stolen (one swiped out of their hands). We've also shared some tips of what to do once a smartphone is stolen. But the best possible situation is not to have your portable device targeted at all, and one could reduce the chances by simply disguising your smartphone or tablet in less conspicuous garb...

Pad & Quill has updated their line of handsome book-style covers, now for both the iPad 2 and the recently competitor from Amazon, the Kindle Fire. These covers are all handmade here in the USA (Minneapolis to be exact), and are constructing with a bookbinding technique with Italian leather which should result in a pretty convincing book cover disguise.

So you might be reading an e-book while waiting to board an airplane or while on public transportation, but at quick glance you'll appear to be reading an old fashioned book. Because the last time we checked, nobody was swiping printed matter out of people's hands.
