New Hampshire-based Trikeenan is one of the only tile manufacturers in the north east United States. Their growing lines of tile and brick are remarkably green — all have a component of recycled material in their make-up (some being 100% recycled) and all glazes are 100% VOC-free.
The handcrafted ceramic tiles come in a variety of shapes and sizes
• Trikeenan Reclamation — made from 20% recycled clap and 100% post-industrial glaze waste
• Boneyard Brick — 95% recycled content (made from reclaimed glaze waste and salvaged thin brick from Metropolitan's MetroBrick)
• Arctic Glass — made from a unique combination of recycled ceramic brick and recycled glass
New Yorkers! You can see Trikeenan tile in the just-reopened SoHo Starbucks at the corner of Spring & Crosby! In addition to working with Starbucks, Trikeenan also does a lot of tilework for Whole Foods — they won a Coverings Project: Green award for their work with the new Dedham, Massachusetts Whole Foods store where over 5,000 square feet of the walls are covered in Trikeenan tiles.
