Netflix has provided a sneak peek at its new unscripted competition format, called “The Big Flower Fight. The eight-part series sees 10 teams of florists, sculptors, and garden designers, competing against one another to make the best and most flamboyant large-scale flower installations.

Similar to other reality competition shows, each episode of “The Big Flower Fight” will have a different theme, forcing contestants to push their creativity and gardening skills to the limit. The materials, too, will vary per week, with participants encouraged to choose sustainable plants such as species that pollinate and are insect-friendly.

One pair will be eliminated each week until only three remain to battle it out in the finale. The winning team will have their sculpture put on display at the Kew Royal Botanic Gardens in London. From the trailer, it seems like one of those soothing competition shows a la “The Great British Baking Show and “Making It;” while the stakes are high, everyone just wants to do their best and seems to get along.

I’ll be completely honest, I’ve never watched a series on gardening, but it looks like this will be my first one. The trailer gives us a glimpse of just how beautiful and extraordinary the entries are, from super-sized structures that look like a koala and a Tyrannosaurus rex, to high fashion pieces made completely out of foliage. We also see the amount of effort and grit it takes to make these stunning works.

It’s something that will make us want to buy more succulents, not to mention, make us want to become better plant parents.

Get your queues ready, because “The Big Flower Fight” comes out on Netflix on May 18.
