We've posted about the classic styles of Bauhaus before on Apartment Therapy and continue to see the influence of these designs in modern day. Interpreted through architecture, art and furniture design, Bauhaus has definitely made a creative mark that continues to provoke design inspiration as we prepare to embark on the new year in a few weeks.

While there were many talented designers in the Bauhaus school that created and used the Bauhaus style, we wanted to share one of the main objectives behind their work - unifying art, craft, and technology. So how can this idea relate to you and your home? Consider using the same objective when you are designing your own space. Look around your home and create a design style that incorporates layers using inspiration from different places. Look at the lines and contrasting elements in the design.

How do you layer style? Are you inspired by classic furniture designers? Share your story with us. Click here to read a wonderful Apartment Therapy post about the history of Bauhaus and click here to read more about classic furniture designers.
