The Fine Art of Rock Collections

The rock collection. So simple and yet probably the most ubiquitous of collections (although seashells might have something to say about that). Jason X Esteban, clearly an incredible talent, makes art out of people's rock collections. The image on top is his painting and the image below is the original photograph. He calls them Universal Landscapes. We think that immortalizing a personal collection in the form of a watercolour to hang on your wall for you to enjoy everyday, is well, just brilliant.

What child hasn't treasured a personally collected pile of stones? Or maybe you, yourself, stashed away some souvenir rocks from your last holiday. If you are in the market for some fine art (starting around $200) with personal meaning then check out Jason's blog where he gives tips on how to take the best shot of your collection.
