Here's an interesting take on "framing" your entertainment center posted over at IKEA Hacker. A submission from Tien showcases a DIY project utilizing 4 Lack long shelves, 2 Lack side tables and some L-brackets to store and display his Pioneer KURO plasma, Pioneer LX-01 sound system and PS3 in a unique fashion...

We love the idea, though we think the dimensions seem a little off (little too high, size overpowering) and the use of a white background is obviously not optimal for movie viewing. But hide the wires and perhaps add some LED lighting up top, and this would be a show stopper of a entertainment display. It certainly gives us a few ideas for a future home theater, but for a pull down/automatic projection screen setup.
