The iPhone Christmas Card: There's an App for That

Something about the holidays makes us want to curl up on the couch with some hot cocoa and glance at the cards friends and family have sent us. We'd have a lot more holiday cheer if one of those cards came with an iPhone inside.

We spotted this unique techie DIY card at Gizmodo. All you've got to do is start with some standard arts & crafts fare like paper and glue (add glitter and rhinestones at your flashy discretion), add a fully-functioning iPhone that's pre-installed with the app Bauble ($0.99 from ITunes). Voila! The Christmas card nobody will ever throw away!

It's definitely not practical or afforable as a Christmas greeting (Especially sent through the post! Eek! Can you say "broken screen"?), but it would be a great way to package an iPhone as a gift for a loved one.

But if you are crazy enough to ship it, we suggest putting the device on airplane mode (to save battery), wrapping it excessively in bubble wrap and shipping the package overnight to ensure your iPhone arrives powered on and in one piece.
