A peaceful home and a toddler: yes- they can go together! If you can implement the ideas shared by Zen Family Habits below, you'll be on your way:
We agree with Sherri of Zen Family Habits that having a routine and a structure, especially when you stay at home with children, really makes a difference in the energy of the day. We like her suggestion to have a routine but leave out actual times, because having that much of a plan when you have a toddler might backfire.
She also gives her two and three year old "responsibilities" and uses some cute (and free) printable posters in their rooms to help them remember them.
Finally, she preps for any crafts at night rather than trying to do the preparation while her toddlers are waiting.
For us personally, we also find we must get out every morning- even if we just grab a pail and shovel and head out to "collect" things for a while. The fresh air and physical activity are a must for a good nap in our house.
What do you do to keep your home more peaceful?
