I cover must-have home products, sales, and brand launches. Prior to working at ATM, I earned my degree in Culture Writing and Criticism from NYU, and I interned at publications like CNN Underscored, TV Insider, Texas Monthly (I'm a Dallas native), and more. When I'm not writing, I'm usually at the movies or browsing in a thrift store.

When I worked at Anthropologie in college, every shift was an exercise in self-control. During the hours I spent walking around the store — the home section in particular — I would mentally add items to my shopping list. Everything was just so cute that it was hard to resist spending my paycheck as soon as I got it. Naturally, when the holiday season rolled around, I went a little overboard scoring gifts with my employee discount. (My family wasn’t complaining, but my wallet sure was.)

Even though I’m no longer going into the store every day, Anthro is still my first stop for gifts, and I’m constantly browsing its online offerings. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the brand’s recent collab with The Metropolitan Museum of Art since it came out a couple of months ago. I can only imagine how little control I’d have if I saw the collection in person. Every piece is absolutely stunning, infused with vintage and festive charm, so it’s no wonder that they’re selling out. I ended up settling for buying just one item — I’m proud of myself — and it’s just as beautiful as I expected. Here’s why you, too, should grab the collection’s ceramic picture frame, as a treat to yourself or for someone else.

What Is the Met x Anthropologie Ceramic Picture Frame?

The 44-piece collection — its number has since changed to 18 as products have sold out — is inspired by the Gilded Age in the late 19th century. The museum houses artwork from the era in its American Wing, and its influence was even seen on the red carpet during 2022’s Met Gala. True to the era’s name, the collection is glittering and golden. The frame in particular draws influence from Art Nouveau patterns with its swirling decals that line its edges. The ivory color that I opted for has a 4-inch diameter. In addition to being sturdy, the stoneware is hand-painted, making each one unique.

Why I Love the Met x Anthropologie Ceramic Picture Frame

I mean, this frame speaks for itself. I’m picky when it comes to frames — I want them to be just as interesting as whatever photo or print is inside them — so the ornate design of this one caught my attention out of all of the items in the collection. It’s showstopping online, and in person, it’s every bit as glamorous as I expected. The circular frame may be the smaller size option out of the three available, but I think it packs the most punch. The vaguely floral, organic design immediately draws the eye, which in turn draws the attention to whatever photo you place in the center.

All in all, this frame really shines, and it makes the memory that the photo documents even more special. I’m tempted to grab another as a gift for one of my loved ones; it’s perfect for those who love sentimental gifts and interior design. I have to make sure to do it before it sells out like the others. At such a great price point, it’s only a matter of time!
