The Wheels on the Bus is one of those songs: kids' enjoyment of it is inversely proportional to adults' annoyance of hearing it over and over. And over. I can't remember where I picked up this book, The Seals on the Bus, a thrift shop no doubt, but it almost has me enthusiastic for this tune again.
In this version, the bus still goes all around the town, but it's inhabited by a menagerie of animals - honking geese, hissing vipers and, of course, eerping seals.
The illustration, by G. Brian Karas, is lively and charming and makes it just as worthy a read as a sing.
The Seals on the Bus, published by Macmillan, is over ten years old but is easy to find online and is probably available at your local library.
