The Trend Toward Sophistication in the Nursery

Nursery style these days has evolved beyond the juvenile. While fresh takes on ABCs and animal motifs will always be popular, we've been seeing a strong trend toward sophisticated nurseries.

Take, for instance, this lovely glimpse of designer Angela Hardison's nursery. It's charming and sweet as a nursery should be, but the rug also adds some grown-up flare. If taken care of, the rug could adapt to a changing room and last through high school. When looking to add some sophistication in a little one's room, also think of other accents such as lamps and window treatments. Shop for furniture pieces such as chairs, sofas, and wardrobes in furniture stores, instead of specialized baby retailers. For a few more photos of Angela's lovely nursery, go here. And if you're wondering, that fantastic rug came from Anthropologie.
