The World of Mad Men Through a 21st-Century Lens

It's been a painful last few days, with the much anticipated season premiere of Mad Men waiting on our Tivo. For various reasons, we just haven't found any time this week to sit down and sink back into the world of Matt Weiner, Don Draper and gang, and we've been in spoiler-avoidance mode. At least I can safely enjoy these visual mashups the design team over at Shutterstock created, imagining what each of the main characters would be like living today.

"...we can’t help but wonder what things would look like if Don Draper and company were heading to work in 2013. Our designers set their sights on the main Mad Men characters with that in mind, choosing an everyday symbol from their daily lives and transforming it through a 21-century lens. While most of these folks would be doing very similar work today, the tools they use to get it done would be quite different. (Just imagine what Peggy could accomplish with a MacBook at her disposal.)"

As illustrated above, Don, Peggy, Pete, Joan, Roger, and Betty are assigned their present day equivalent tools-of-their-trade in a "then and now" fashion. Pete Campbell would definitely be a Blackberry user. I'd argue the more forward-thinking Peggy would work utilizing the cloud, rather than the nostalgic Don Draper. And Joan would be totally an Evernote pro, right? I'd be afraid to see Roger's Pinterest board.
