If you are stuck in Milan thanks to clouds of volcanic ash, you must find plenty of things to do to keep yourself occupied. Designers Jakob Maurer, Rupert Adlmaier and Thomas Egger decided to bring the fun outside guerilla style with their ultimate clash of generations project that pit famous chairs against one another in an unusual setting...a soccer field.

The designers chose chairs as their soccer players on this table soccer game, but these aren't just any chairs. They are la crème de la crème of the design world. The "Oldie Rage Team" included the Egg chair by Arne Jacobsen, the Molded plastic chair by Charles and Ray Eames and the Tulip armless chair by Eero Saarinen while the "Modern Wave Team" was composed of chairs like the Loulou ghost chair by Philippe Starck, the S-chair by Tom Dixon and the Houdini chair by Stefan Diez.

With the project set up in the street, anyone was invited to participate. People young and old partook in the chair battle. To see more images from the event and to read more, visit: yatzer: The World's Largest Chair Battle.

What team would you want to be on?
