These Organizers Turn Your Humble Desk Into a Command Station

Nothing collects as much junk in our home as the office, but it's all things we need! Like uni-tasking peripheral devices… and business cards… and coffee! Good news: There are products out there to help you organize all of it. Each of these desk organizers are transformers: they might be part USB hub, part memory card reader or part iPhone dock, but they're all awesome.

First off, the iTable. Rattling off its features sounds like a wish list for the perfect desk: There's a few spots for different memory card readers, a bunch of USB ports, slots to keep business cards in easy view, a hard drive dock, a set of computer speakers, a cup holder, plus the perfect spot to rest your iPhone while it's charging. But the blogosphere seems to think the stark white design of iTable leaves something to be desired.

Since we're kind of hooked on the idea of an everything-in-one desktop command station, we sought out a few different options that stick to the "everything in its place" philosophy:

• The iStick is iTable's little brother, with a USB hub, cup holder, iPhone dock and endless nooks for office knick-knacks. Get it from in white or black, both $39.99.

• The U-Board adds some class to the desktop command center with a glass top design, but you lose lots of the custom-cubbies that the iTable and iStick have. U-Board incorporates only a 3-port USB hub and cup holder into its design. From for $57.50.

• The i/o Desk Organizer blows them all out of the water in style. There's a place for everything — pens, business cards, books, your cell phone's charger cord — and it's all worked into an endlessly cool walnut and felt design. The bad news? The short waiting list for the i/o Organizer has closed, so pray to whatever deity you believe in to get your hands on this one.

• Although the Space Bar lacks some of the functionality of the other designs, the Mac-ish brushed nickel finish definitely gives your space a command center look. Space Bar was a design comissioned on the crowdsourcing site Quirky to give you some extra desk space and a few extra USB ports. While it's no longer available from Quirky, you can find it for $79.99 from

And if you're still really digging the iTable after all of this, you can get it from Thanko for 5,480 Yen (about $69), or keep an eye on the Japan-tech-shipping-warehouse GeekStuff4U to see if it pops into their online catalog.
