This High-Tech Canopy Bed Is Straight Out Of The Jetsons

Canopy beds aren’t exactly a new concept. Back in the days of drafty castles, they provided extra warmth when heavy curtains were hung on them (which also added some privacy since there were always other people around). But iNyx, complete with 21st century bells and whistles, is not your monarch’s canopy bed.

Sure, it’s got a Jetsons-slash-retro carport vibe, but if you’re not opposed to giant chrome awnings above your head, there are lots of features to this thing.

Privacy screens descend from the side, which is helpful if your room is bright, or you have an open loft or studio space. There are built-in LED lights that change colors, and the canopy can even be set to mimic the night sky. There’s a projector in the headboard, a five-point sound system, and a screen lowers from the end of the roof, giving you a theater experience right from bed. Your grandma’s canopy bed definitely didn’t have a “built-in aroma system.” Or cupholders.

iNyx can be “customized to your needs and wishes,” because everyone likes their space bed a little bit different.

The people behind iNyx are raising money on Indiegogo to bring this bed to market. One of their offered perks is you can test out the iNyx in your own home for $100.
