When you're in my line of work you spend a lot of time looking at floors. But I've never been quite so enamored with a floor as I am with this marbled wood floor, which combines all the beauty of marble and woodgrain into one impossibly lovely surface.
The flooring is the work of Pernille Snedker Hansen of Snedker Studio, who creates it by dipping individual pieces of wood into a marbling bath, just as you would with paper. The pigments are slightly translucent, which allows the wood's natural grain to show through, adding another layer to the design.
If you were to actually put this flooring in a real home, I imagine that you'd have to keep all the other furnishings fairly simple, since it's difficult to find a color that matches with everything. But I can guarantee you it'd be more than worth it, because if you had this floor, why would you ever want to look at anything else?
