Having trouble sleeping? Here's a really simple — and scientifically supported — trick that can help with that.
The trick? Stick one of your feet out from under the covers. It may seem odd (and may generate a little teasing from your sleeping partner), but according to the folks at New York Magazine's Science of Us, it works because exposing your feet is a particularly good way to lower your body temperature, and a lower temperature is a signal to your body that it's time to fall asleep.
I'll admit to feeling a bit skeptical about this, since all my life I've never been able to fall asleep if I even so much imagined that my feet were cold. But who am I to argue with science? Have any of you tried this? How did it work out?
