Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: My boyfriend, Campbell, and I live in a one-bedroom apartment in Fort Worth, Texas. When moving in Campbell completely let me take over the decor aspect! Initially I was drawn to the pastel Danish decor inspiration but as I collected items and art, I went a little overboard with color and LOVED IT. Our apartment now gives a very home-y slightly eccentric feel! It’s a home that never feels dreary as it’s filled with colors, books, and disco balls!
As I’ve gotten older, my identity as taken a more colorful approach! I’m drawn to bold colors — darker blues, orange, emerald green, and love to mix in soft colors such as pale yellow and light pink. That color palette is definitely reflected in my home decor! Art that I tend to be drawn to is colorful yet a little more subtle to nicely fit into the rest of the chaos.
I feel like for me personally a rainbow color scheme can start to feel a little overwhelming so I tend to be drawn to solid colors that complement each other well, but yet, allow each other to stand out!
Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Colorful modern eclectic
What is your favorite room and why? My favorite room is by far the living room! The gallery wall in the living room is a collection of art I’ve made or recreated mixed in with art that I found in thrift shops or on trips so it’s very special to me! Not to mention the morning light that shines through the living room and hits the disco balls on the couch is such a beautiful sight to see!
What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? A beautiful hand-blown yellow glass vase from a local glass blowing studio! Pairs perfectly with tulips.
Any advice for creating a home you love? It takes time! We spent over a year slowly collecting pieces we loved from art, glassware, coffee table books etc. Sometimes you’re just in a rush to get things done and purchase things you don’t end up loving! If you take your time and really purchase things you absolutely love, you’ll be able to curate a more meaningful and put together home!
