Pluto TV thinks Netflix is too much work; you've got to choose what you want to watch instead of just flipping around to whatever's on. So the streaming service is bringing channel surfing to internet TV.
Pluto's app looks like a standard cable guide, and when you open it, it starts automatically playing the last channel you watched. And while you can switch channels, you don't have the option, or "burden" as CEO Tom Ryan puts it, of choosing to watch an individual show.
The service is free, and just announced content deals with NBC News, Reuters, Paramount, 120 Sports, CNET, Legendary Digital, and Corus Entertainment.
