Yesterday, we learned an important home improvement tip firsthand: taking a picture of a room helps you back away and see it from a different perspective. This is something we all know here at Apartment Therapy, right? Because every day we look at pictures of rooms and think about what we do like and what we would change.

We knew we liked elements of our bath, but there was a lack of cohesiveness that was bothering us. By taking pictures and stepping back, we have developed some ideas for little quirks that could make a big impact: changing out patterned towels for neutrals, replacing the bamboo tray with a white tray, and more &mdash all ideas that will help us streamline our bath.

Have you done this and found that it helps?
