Forget the cubicles and awkward water cooler chat. For the careers of tomorrow, you may just need to make your way to the couch. Okay, it may require more effort than that. But remote work is certainly changing the professional landscape.

As of 2017, 43% of U.S. workers now work remotely at least occasionally, up from only, at the most, 9% of workers in 2007, FlexJobs reports.

The industries of these remote jobs varies greatly, with everything from therapy and tutoring to state and local government on the list of the fastest-growing remote job categories. FlexJobs compiled a list of the Top 100 Companies with Remote Jobs for 2018, and we think you’ll definitely see a few familiar ones on there.

There are some home-related companies included on the list: there’s Amazon, the online retailer, as well as Vivint Smart Home, a home automation technology company, and CVS Health, a.k.a. the house that ExtraBucks built. One design related inclusion is Williams Sonoma, which came in number 15 on the list. The high-end specialty retailer’s presence on the list comes as no surprise, considering they hired a ton of work-from-home help during the holiday season. The jobs entailed “providing world class customer service through confident resolutions for returns, replacements, credits, status of their order placing, orders,” Apartment Therapy reported at the time.

Unsurprisingly, many of the top companies are in the technology realm. In the number one slot is VIPKID, an English language learning company. Number two is Appen, a technology services company, while number three is Conduent, an information technology company.
