Top Your Desk With Wallpaper for a Punch of Color

Without a ton of space in your small, cool home for a proper home office, you'll need to look for alternative ways to assert your sense of personal style in your workspace. Unfortunately, it seems that the most affordable office furniture is often the most boring. Give your sleek tech a punch of color, pattern or even florals with a different sort of desktop wallpaper.

Forget, for a second, about that other sort of desktop wallpaper that rests, digitally, within your screen. Here, we're talking about real wallpaper. You know, the kind that goes on your walls.

As a renter, we've fallen in star-crossed love with too many wallpaper patterns to count. But alas, until our landlord gives the go-ahead, we're left with generic beige walls.

That is, until we spotted this home office idea from Martha Stewart.

Take that gorgeous wallpaper to your literal desktop for a punch of color in your workspace. Just cut it to size, tape it down to your desk at the corners, then top it off with a piece of custom-cut glass.

Voila! Now you have an instant personality for an otherwise drab teched-out workspace.
