These Are Trader Joe’s Most Loved Products, According to Superfans
The ballots are in and the customers’ votes have been counted. Trader Joe’s announced the winning products of the grocery chain’s 11th Annual Customer Choice Awards.
We can’t say we’re shocked at what took the top slots (Plantain Chips, Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, and Everything But The Bagel Seasoning Blend are obvious winners). But even so, we think the title of “best-loved” anything gives us more of a reason to shop at TJ’s—especially when it comes to their top-tier home and beauty items.
This year, the Annual Customer Choice Awards were streamlined in comparison to previous years. According to Real Simple, the event used to have customers vote in 16 categories, but this year that number was shaved down to nine. So, to say that the competition became *that* much more cutthroat is an understatement.
The top Trader Joe’s home, bath, and beauty products are, in our opinion, extremely deserving of the recognition. If you’ve yet to try any of the below winners, now is the time.
All-Time Fave: Trader Joe’s Scented Candles
The overall winner of the Home, Bath, & Beauty category in this year’s competition are the scented candles. TJ’s seasonal scented candles are made with a natural soy-wax blend and feature a lead-free cotton wick. Scents vary depending on season—florals in the spring, spices in the fall and winter—and each tinned candle burns for approximately 20 hours.

First Runner Up: Rose Water Facial Toner
Soothing witch hazel meets refreshing rose water in Trader Joe’s much-loved toner, which TJ’s calls the “final step” in one’s face-cleansing routine. The rose water facial toner also was First Runner Up last year as well, so it’s definitely a crowd-pleaser.
“You can spray it onto cotton pads and use it to finish your cleansing routine; you can spray the mist directly onto your skin throughout the day for a quick refresher; you can even use it as a makeup setting spray,” the site reads.

Second Runner Up: Coconut Body Butter
According to the Trader Joe’s website, the coconut body butter was first intended to only be on the shelves during the dry, winter months. However, people liked it so much, it has never gone away. Again, it was also a runner up in last year’s Awards, so it looks like this won’t be leaving TJ’s any time soon.
Described as a “thick, smooth, buttery, body cream,” the fast-absorbing body butter is made with pure coconut oil, aloe vera, shea butter, and Vitamin E, and is beneficial for all skin types, including those who suffer from eczema.

Third Runner Up: Shea Butter & Coconut Oil Hair Mask
Shea butter, coconut oil, argan oil, Vitamin E, and “a variety of fruit extracts” like blackberry, mulberry, currant, & açaí, blend together within Trader Joe’s shea butter & coconut oil hair mask to repair, brighten, and strengthen your locks (one of our writers compared it to a $45 mask).

Fourth Runner Up: Ultra Hydrating Gel Moisturizer
This water-based gel moisturizer is a unique blend of “skin-soothing ingredients” including aloe leaf juice, green tea, birch leaf, milk thistle extracts, and the “holy grail of modern moisturizing ingredients,” sodium hyaluronate (a.k.a. The salt form of hyaluronic acid). While some think it’s a dupe for La Mer, it’s actually closer to a Clinique product.

And if you’re curious to try more, last year customers voted the TJ’s Tea Tree Tingle shampoo as their overall fave Home, Bath, and Beauty product, so add that to your shopping list, too.
