Reusing or, to use it's more fashionable name upcycling, is one of our favorite ways to decorate our home. It's cheap, it's creative, it's eco-friendly and it's a fun way to spend a few hours. We've shared many techniques for revamping a vintage piece of furniture. And tiling is nothing new. Especially this time of year, it's common to see iron tables with tiled tops. But we're thinking of something a little more sophisticated.

Taking a cue from this credenza from Ercole Home, the mosaic furniture line, swaddle the front of your furniture in a mosaic of tiles in shades that complement each other.

  • Lay out your design before you start
  • Lay your piece on its side
  • Use tile adhesive to adhere your tiles to the wood. Lay your tiles up against each other. This is a no-grout look.
  • Try tiles from Ecogres, Trend and Sandhill Industries. For more tile resources, click here.
