Thanks to an abundance of treehouse vacation properties, an arboreal escape is no longer the stuff of childhood dreams. The latest leafy hideaway to catch our attention is the luxurious Eathelin treehouse.

Constructed around the trunk of an ash tree, the whimsical dwelling is located in Tenbury-Wells, Worcestershire, England, on a working farm surrounded by lakes and meadows. Guests enter the two-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage by way of a hand-carved bannister that leads to a wooden front door.

Inside, the home features a lounge/dining area with yew paneling, colored lighting as well as windows that accentuate the circular space and offer views of the surrounding woodland. There’s also a smart TV along with an electric fireplace and underfloor heating to accentuate the homey, welcoming atmosphere. In the fully-equipped kitchen, there’s a microwave, electric oven, a refrigerator with icemaker and a dishwasher. A modern bathroom with shower and fossil sink rounds out the lower level.

A set of hand-crafted wooden stairs leads up to sleeping area, which houses a king-size bed with luxury linens and a free-standing copper bathtub. The master bedroom also features an arched window for stargazing. To reach full relaxation mode, guests can enjoy time on the balcony, which grants access to a hot tub and a lakeside BBQ/firepit area.

Previous guests have praised the property for its tranquil, private location and beauty, as well as easy access to Malvern Hills, the Forest of Dean and the Brecon Beacons, where

pubs, shopping opportunities, cathedrals and riverside walking trails abound.
