Turn Your Desktop Wallpaper Into an IKEA Showroom

Turn Your Desktop Wallpaper Into an IKEA Showroom

Everything else in your apartment is from IKEA, so why not bring that same low-priced Swedish aesthetic to your computer desktop? With this set of wallpaper and organizational-decor icons (both PC and Mac) from the furniture giant itself, you'll be looking like a showroom in no time.

The EXPEDIT shelf unit from IKEA is a popular choice (Check it out here, here, here and here) for people looking to outfit their home office or media room with storage. Something about the modular little squares lends itself well to organizing all the things you need to get work (or some serious movie-watching marathon-ing) done.

So when you need to orgainze your digital tools, why wouldn't you turn to the same piece of furniture?
IKEA has made it easy by providing a desktop wallpaper of their classic EXPEDIT shelves (in four different colors; green, gray, purple and violet), along with 11 different icons that are clones of IKEA storage boxes and bins.

To get started on your way to Swedish minimalist wallpapering, head over to this page on IKEA's website. It's all in Hungarian, but it should be pretty easy to pick out the "PC" and "Mac" buttons at the bottom of the page.

The buttons will allow you to download a .zip file of the four colored EXPEDIT wallpapers and the 11 icons. Just pick your favorite image to set as the wallpaper and switch out some of your desktop icons for these IKEA-styled ones. Don't know how? No problem. Check out the how-to directions here (for PC) or here (for Mac).
