Your Home Office Organization or Tech Tip: I laid out my new home recording studio with access to the gear and functionality as the goal. I wanted the design to maximize access to and availability of my various controllers and synthesizers and my DJ rig, so rather than have things tucked away in drawers and cabinets, I tried to keep as much right out in the open as possible.

I'm still working on the final wiring of the studio, but I think I've got the gear pretty well laid out, and this setup will allow me to have all the controllers connected simultaneously, so I can make use of any piece of equipment at any point in my creative process without having to stop and re-cable the setup in order to use one particular piece of equipment. You can't really see from the photo, but there are also fluorescent lights mounted under the speakers on the sides of the desktop workspace, as well as on the underside of the shelf above the DJ rig.
